The Macarthur Study Bible

July 31st, 2009 | 1 Comment

For any serious student of the bible, that individual needs at least one good study bible. A study bible gives you several tools in one volume that equips you to dig deeper into the text.
My favorite is the MacArthur Study Bible

The MacArthur Study Bible has:

  • Time lines
  • Dozens of color maps
  • Helpful drawings and maps throughout the Bible
  • Introductions to each book
  • Cross references

A great many tools to help make your  study come alive. You do not want to stop you collection of tools at just a study bible but you do want to have it as one of the important tools in daily bibly study.

Have You Been Born Again?

The singers above are lifting their voices about the new relationship they have with Jesus.  The song melds the miraculous change that happens when you accept Jesus as your Savoir with the first act of obedience to Him.  To demonstrate your obedience to the Lord and pronounce your conversion to the world you go and “be baptized.”

If you don’t know Him as your personal Savior, I invite you to ask the Lord into your heart today.  Confess your sin to Him and ask Him to forgive you and He will. He died for you on a cross over two thousand years ago that today you may be saved.  It won’t cost you a thing because Jesus paid it all.

Meditate on this scripture:

1 Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel  is that they may be saved. 2 For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. 3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God. 4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.
5 For Moses writes about the righteousness which is of the law, “The man who does those things shall live by them.”  6 But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’”   (that is, to bring Christ down from above) 7 or, “‘Who will descend into the abyss?’”  (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
