Mt Vernon Youth Worship Service – June 12, 2011.  Challenged the youth to be counted as a Noah in their generation.

A message about our upcoming Youth Day 2010:

This message was preached on September 5th, 2010 at the Second Guildfield Baptist Church in Front Royal, VA.  This was the 30th year anniversary of Rev Dr. Franklin Roberts.

The parable of the ten virgins is a stern warning against those who think they can slide into heaven on a technicality. The parable lets us know that we need to get our business fixed long before the last hour of your life.  There is a great advantage in getting to know the Lord today! Preacher’s Note: For some reason, yours truly had a “brain hiccup” and scrambled the trials of Jesus.  Sometimes strange things happen when you are preaching. (smile)  The actual trials were:

1. Before Annas
2. Before Caiaphas
3. Before the Sanhedrin
4. Before Pilate
5. Before Herod
6. Before Pilate Again

This is the first of a series of messages dealing with the Bible and what is in it. This is a recorded message which shares the same content that was taught on Sunday morning.

The text of emphasis during this series is “What is the Bible about anyway?” which tells us how Scripture was created and what its purpose for the one who reads it.

Mt Vernon had its first Youth Worship Service on April 11th and it was a blast!  The children had the opportunity to listen to contemporary gospel music from Mary Mary and others. We had young people to pray and conduct responsive reading as well.

The Ice Breaking concept was implemented during the service to get them engaged in a game that pointed to Jesus.

The message is the first of a series of messages on the Plan of Salvation.  We are talking about the five P’s starting with the Problem: Sin.

I was an exciting time and we look forward to the Lord continuing to bless this service.
